Pia Griffin, is a credentialed director and early childhood educator with extensive experience working with young children in both Canada and the United States. Pia Griffin, is a credentialed director and early childhood educator with extensive experience working with young children in both Canada and the United States. She joined our preschool in 1991 as an Enrichment Teacher and Head Substitute, bringing creativity and warmth to every classroom she entered. In 2008, Pia became our Assistant Director, and in 2014 she proudly stepped into her current role as Director.
Pia and our dedicated staff share a deep passion for nurturing children’s growth through a developmentally appropriate curriculum. They believe that play is not just an activity, but a vital part of every child’s early learning experience—helping them build curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Hi, I’m Carrie Shearer, the co-director at Pied Piper Preschool. I gained my Bachelors Degree in Primary Education in Scotland and while working as a class teacher with both preschool and elementary aged children, I was studying for my Masters in Education. Before I moved to California with my husband and daughter in 2019, I was a Principal Teacher at a preschool/elementary school. My daughter attended Pied Piper Preschool for almost 3 years and during that time I was the maintenance assistant then served on the board as the maintenance chair. Pied piper is the most wonderful preschool and I love that I am back as a teacher. Working with and educating children is my absolute passion and I fully believe that the community within Pied Piper is the most special and unique place to contribute to the growth of your children.

I have an Associate Teacher’s degree from Diablo Valley College (DVC). My journey at Pied Piper started in 2008 when my oldest kiddo (now 20 years old) first came here. My other two kiddos (16 & 14 years old) so

I have an Associate Teacher’s degree from Diablo Valley College (DVC). My journey at Pied Piper started in 2008 when my oldest kiddo (now 20 years old) first came here. My other two kiddos (16 & 14 years old) soon followed. I’ve also served on the board as a part of the maintenance team during my 6 year journey as a co-oping parent. Thank you!
